Pain from loss of love is not only emotion, it can be a physical pain too.  And it can last, and last…  because you don’t know what to do about it.

What if there’s now a new option?  ‘Who breathes must suffer,’ wrote Matthew Prior in the 17th century.  Another popular version is ‘Who loves must suffer.’  But these days, at least some of our pain and suffering is no longer a necessity – even with no drug in sight!

Millions of people worldwide are using the new acupressure technique Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT tapping) to let go of pain, both emotional and physical, often in record time.

Even long-held severe suffering from traumas, and much severe physical pain, have yielded quickly to properly applied EFT, as thousands of personal reports online demonstrate, as well as more than 100 scientific studies.

This 21st century behavioural technology is called energy therapy. It deals with the energy structures underlying emotional and physical pain. People who are willing to try it say, ‘This is incredible!’

(This remarkable self-help technique is also available in EFT practitioner-assisted sessions, in person, by phone or on Skype/Zoom.)

How do you do EFT tapping?

To do EFT, you fingertap on key acupuncture points on your face and body while you briefly focus on one specific problem at a time.  This soothes your meridian energy system, which stress disrupts.   Acupressure also calms the amygdala part of your brain, which is involved with the fight-flight-freeze danger response (Harvard Medical School research )..

‘Love pain’ can be physical

Take the emotional pain that happens for many people when their long-term relationship breaks up, or is lost through death.

This emotional hurt can be so strong that people feel it as a physical pain in their heart area.

In the past, people have had no choice but to live with that pain and suffering for a long time — perhaps for  the rest of their lives – as millions still do.  Their suffering not only depresses them, it often affects their health.  It also closes off possible new avenues for fulfilled living and loving.

‘I’m not sad — what happened?’

‘I’m going to be sad for the rest of my life,’ a woman said to me during an EFT workshop I was conducting, as a Certified EFT tapping coach.
‘Would you like to tap about that?’ I asked.  She agreed, pessimistically.

She tapped on her face and body, following my guidance.  We applied the basic EFT 30-second tapping technique focussed on her sad feelings, and we repeated it a few times.    Minutes later she said, ‘I’m not sad!  What happened?’

While not everybody has such a fast result,  many people do.  Others suffering relationship loss may need one or a few EFT sessions with a tapping coach, to clear for the years ahead.

Husband’s rejection

One client came to me after sixteen years of pining for a husband who had rejected her.  Tapping soothed her pain immediately, and she learned to apply the simple technique for herself.

Another woman felt broken-hearted, but wanted to stop hurting six months after her husband of thirty years left her for another woman.  She is recovering so fast through a few tapping sessions that she says:  ‘It’s incredible. He came over last night and all I could feel was anger, that he didn’t even remember my birthday.’

Of course, our next EFT step is to help her drop the anger, so that whatever he does no longer matters…  Long-held anger is a health hazard, as well as long-held grief.

If I could, I would send a copy of my book ‘Tapping Your Troubles Away with EFT’ to Matthew Prior, with the great news that people are now proving that some, at least, of our pain and suffering is no longer necessary…
